We are defining “site visits” in 2024–25 to include virtual conferences between an ECE teacher and a designated ECE site visitor. In doing so, we’ve adjusted the focus of these “visits” away from classroom practices and over to curriculum and student work. During the visit, instructors can raise whatever questions, issues, or ideas they have—including classroom and student topics. At least a portion of the time should be spent discussing the course materials that the instructor submitted at the beginning of the academic year, and another portion of time should be spent on discussing three samples of student work provided by the instructor for this conference (details below). Please take a moment to fill out this form and submit it at least a day before your scheduled visit.
We learn about the ECE program by hearing from you, and this pre-visit document is an opportunity for you to tell us what you think we need to know about your class, you work, your school, your students, your experiences with the ECE-English program, your expectations, and your needs.
